The results of negotiations between US president's special envoy for Belarus John Coale and Alaksandr Lukashenka have become known.
The US is lifting sanctions on Lida's Lakаfarba and the state concern Bellespaрerpram. In response, the Lukashenka regime released 25 people as a gesture of goodwill. This was announced by the US president's special envoy for Belarus.
The work of the American delegation in Belarus has concluded. "These negotiations will continue. We have made great progress, from my point of view. And we will continue our joint work," Coale commented.
Before his visit to Belarus, Coale said he had managed to free around 800 people from behind bars and hoped to bring the number to 1,000 by the end of the year. Many had hoped that this time around 200 political prisoners would be released.
